J. Marshall, the artist responsible for fusing together some of the most diametrically opposed musical genres, lives, ironically, in the sunshine state. Born in the Carribean and raised in New York, he realized music was a passion at an early age. He began performing and writing while still in grade school and even got accepted into the New York City High School for the Performing Arts. Fate, it would seem, had other plans and the dream of a career in music was put on hold until a chance meeting with Atlanta underground rapper, Slim Du. The two struck a resonant chord with each other and began collaborating. DarkCyde grew out of those collaborations as a means of instrumental exploration. A way to tell stories without words……
